ORDERING BOOKS

We pride ourselves on our carefully curated collection of children’s and teachers books, chosen from traditional children's publishers from the UK and beyond. We have around 50,000 books in stock, with titles for the full range of children’s ages (from board books for infants to YA fiction for teenagers). It is likely that we can supply you directly from our stock at any given time, however books not currently in stock can be sourced for you from the multitude of publishers and our wholesaler as required.

Books for Schools:

If you would like to order books for your school, please email Annie (our ordering department) at annie@ncbc.co.uk in the first instance. We can order any book in print, can negotiate competitive discounts on large orders (individual titles in excess of 30 copies each) and FREE delivery on all orders, no matter how big or small. Books are invoiced to your school allowing 10% discount as standard.

If you require a quote for an order or list of books, we can supply one. Please do bear in mind that we are a small independent business with limited staff time, of which quotations can take quite some time to complete. We can be competitive on price - if you are not happy with the quote we have supplied, please do let us know, as we may be able to negotiate on discount.

Please bear in mind that for certain academic titles and books sourced from small independent presses, we may not be able to offer our usual discount. We will always try and get the best deal for our customers - it is always worth asking us as we are happy to have the conversation with our suppliers to meet your book needs.

Books for Bookshop Customers:

If you would like to order a book for a personal order (for yourself or the children in your lives), please get in touch with us:

- by phone on 01263 761402

- email Annie at annie@ncbc.co.uk

- on social media, preferably via facebook message, find us at @norfolkcbc on Facebook, Instagram and Threads

If you are able to visit the shop to collect your order, we will let you know when it is in stock and give you a call or text/email to leave a message.

If you need your books posted to a UK address, postage will be charged at cost (£3.75 minimum) and we will arrange payment over the phone when all of the books are in stock so that we can figure out the postage cost. We do not take pre-payment on orders, however we do expect you to pay on collection, especially if you have pre-ordered a book that hasn’t been published yet.

We are able to order any book in print, whether it’s for children or grown-ups! As an independent bookshop, we have access to all manner of wonderful indie exclusive signed editions across the publishing spectrum - if you know your favourite author has a new book out soon, get in touch as we may be able to secure a special edition just for you!

Sadly we are no longer able to offer our recommendation service via email or text, although we would be more than happy to put together a collection of recommendations in advance of your visit to the shop for you to peruse at leisure with a cup of tea or coffee on a specific date.

Delivery:

We offer free delivery on all school orders and we will get your books to you using a variety of reliable delivery options. If you are a local school (broadly within Norfolk), you may meet our friendly delivery driver Richard on his weekly round to deliver to and collect books from schools. If you are outside of Norfolk, we use DPD courier to deliver our books, at no extra cost to your school. For small parcels of books, we take our postal orders to the post office on the day that your order is ready to go, and post first class when possible (and if requested).

If you are outside the UK, we will charge you “at cost” for delivery, and we will discuss with you the most appropriate delivery method. Please get in touch with Jane at jane@ncbc.co.uk to discuss any overseas orders in advance.

Returns Policy:

If books that you order turn out to be unsuitable for any reason, we can accept them back with proof of purchase (either a till receipt for personal customers, or an invoice for schools). If for a school order, we can credit the school account or re-invoice you - with the exception of books that have been stamped with the school name or damaged in any way.

Online ordering:

We do not have an online shop, but we do have the next best thing. Our bookshop.org shopfront features our recommended book lists with the best new books so you can be sure that you will find our latest favourites in our book lists. If you would like to support us from wherever you are in the world and can't physically visit the shop, do consider supporting us in this way.

Bookshop.org supplies books on our behalf and you can search for any book in print or peruse our digital bookshelves by browsing our lists, which we are constantly updating. We receive commission based on every sale that comes through our NCBC affiliated links, and when you choose NCBC as your favourite bookshop.
