TESTIMONIALS

"Thank you, Norfolk Children’s Book Centre, for advising us on shelving and book choices for our school library at Mile Cross Primary. We now have a bright, purposeful space at the heart of our school with a range of wonderful books for the children to borrow and take home.

Our recent Ofsted report stated, “Reading is a priority” and that children are “given every opportunity to shine” with a curriculum that “opens pupils’ eyes to the world around them”. We truly value your continued support in annual audits of our stock and replenishment of top- quality texts, contributing to our culture of Reading For Pleasure."

- Suzanne Robertson, Assistant Headteacher, Mile Cross Primary School, Norwich.

(December 2024 – maintained standards from previous 2017 Outstanding Ofsted rating)

"Our children are just thrilled by our new library area and they are in the process this week of simply enjoying the space, sitting and enjoying some beautiful books.  They have been overwhelmed by the amount of choice and the eagerness and joy that we have seen in our new library space is just what we were after – our children finally have  a collection of books that have made them excited to read! Obviously, the fact the children are in such awe is down to your teams ability to make it look so engaging but also the number of hours that you put in that went above and beyond any of our expectations!

The commitment that you and your team showed and continue to show is so inspiring that it has made the entire staff look at books and the quality of what we were offering the children with a new light. I feel that the staff and children feel a real sense of pride walking into the new Library and this can only go onto to inspire our future readers. I have to mention just how lovely and friendly you and the team are.

Even after ploughing through so many books, you all had such a smile and spark about you all and there was a real ‘buzz’ in the room as you all worked through what seemed like a never ending mountain of books.

Everyone has also mentioned how useful it has been to share your tips with the batons as well as the use of shelving and how we should rotate books in our classrooms. I don’t think this email will quite explain the impact that you and the team have made to our village and children." - Ian Cantle, Somersham Primary School, Huntingdon

"I just wanted to drop you a quick email to see huge thanks for yours and your teams time and care that was taken to organise and rejuvenate our library. I am so excited to launch the library in the new year. There are so many wonderful books - I have caught several members of staff perusing the shelves this evening!

One member of staff was sat down in a bean bag reading and one crouched down looking at the key stage two picture books 15 minutes after she said she was leaving the library. I hope we can work with you again in the future." - Lisa

"We have loved a year with our new library. It is in constant use. The children are reading more widely and are less focused on size (and book band!) of the book. They are looking at, enjoying and learning from reading more non-fiction and poetry.

Three year 6 girls have loved it so much they have set up a lunchtime story club where they read to the younger children once a week. It's been brilliant to see the children so absorbed in reading.  Staff are also reading more children's fiction and are able to chat about books more confidently." - Katharine

"I just wanted to let you know that the staff are over the moon with the amazing selection of books that you and your team collated and ordered for us. We had inset on Monday and Tuesday and staff are inspired and can't wait to start introducing the books to their class. You have been so helpful and I would like to pass on my thanks." - Kirsten

"Thank you for the excellent day you gave us at St Benet's. There was a real buzz about the school and it was so pleasing to see so many children return with their parents to the book fair. The feedback was excellent and I really believe that your story telling gets them fired up for the rest of the day. So we are grateful for the enthusiasm and excitement that you generate in the children for books. We look forward to your next visit." - Annie

"I would like to pass on my thanks and those of all the children and staff here for the fantastic work you and your colleagues have done with our school library. It has been positively transformed. We love the selection of new books and the organisation is so much better for us.

Most importantly, the children have been very excited about it and their enthusiasm for getting hold of the books has reached new levels! Our children love reading at this school and they deserve the best which is what you and your team have delivered. Thank you." - Claire
